ABOUT THIS HOTEL
This hotel is designed to be an oasis that celebrates some of the very best things about Grand Ledge - things like togetherness, gratitude and beauty. We'll seek to engage both our community and each guest with a positive and personalized experience.
If you're like most of today's travelers, you appreciate an experience that goes beyond what the stereotypical hotel has to offer. Sometimes you're looking for a get away where you can completely disconnect and relax; but at other times you might be in the mood for some local cultural immersion or outdoor adventure. And, let's face it, you'll never complain about luxury at an affordable price. Through local partnerships and application of the newest in technology, Rabbit & Mitten is designed to meet precisely all of those expectations.
While we hope that your future visit here will be one of the best hotel experiences you ever have, it's about a lot more than that. Every aspect of this company has been thoughtfully planned to invest in our employees, our town and the global community. So supporting this hotel is impacting something bigger than a business or you or me. But it all starts here - in this place we call home.
Grand Ledge has been my town for the past thirty two years, and I have always been proud of our town's history, beauty and community spirit. Frankly, that's nothing new because for generations, both citizens and visitors have known this place is something special. It's a place worth celebrating, a place worth preserving.
As an interior and exhibit designer, I love using physical locations to tell stories. With that in mind, I spent a couple of years looking for just the right building as a backdrop for this project. Initially, I dismissed the lovely structure on 205 W. Scott Street as too complicated; but the more I imagined what it could be, the more I fell in love with it. First a church and then a school, this building has a long history of investing in the fabric our community. I can't wait to share those stories, and to create new ones with both the citizens of and visitors to Grand Ledge.
The Rabbit & Mitten project is meaningful to me on a personal level, as it draws on my experience and skills in a way that I can contribute to the world around me. But it's more than that. As the owner, I'm working hard to intentionally create a space that isn't just about bringing my own idea into fruition, but is about our community and who we are. And that is not something I can do on my own. To make this the best that it can be, I need you. Your ideas, your experiences, your voice will impact who we are. We can make this hotel a place our town is proud of, a place visitors will write home about.
